As part of Minia University’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, and under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Mostafa – Vice President of the University and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering – the Faculty of Engineering hosted on Monday, August 18, 2025, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Kamal Ahmed Ali, Associate Professor at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, and seconded from the Department of Automotive and Tractor Engineering, Faculty of Engineering – Minia University, to deliver a distinguished scientific lecture entitled:
“Application of Research Outputs and Reliability Enhancement: Challenges and Proposed Solutions.”
The lecture was attended by the faculty administration, academic staff members, assistant staff, and researchers. It addressed several key themes, most notably:

Enhancing research planning methodologies for young researchers.

Applying for research project funding to support laboratory capacities and strengthen applied research foundations.

Promoting partnerships with the industrial sector to support research capabilities and develop practical solutions.
During the lecture, Dr. Mohamed Kamal emphasized the strategic importance of energy resources in the present and the future, highlighting that the transportation sector is the largest consumer of energy, which necessitates new and sustainable strategies to reduce fuel consumption and minimize harmful emissions. He also presented his research findings on improving the tribological performance of automotive engines using nanotechnology applications through eco-friendly nanolubricants.
Scientific Achievements of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Ahmed Ali:

Recipient of the State Encouragement Award in Engineering Sciences in 2020 from the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Recipient of the Minia University Encouragement Award in Engineering and Technological Sciences in 2019.

Published numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers in prestigious international journals (SCI Indexed) focusing on improving the tribological performance of automotive engines, rationalizing fuel consumption, and reducing harmful emissions.

Secured several research projects funded by the Chinese Ministry of Higher Education and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in addition to projects funded by Egypt’s Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF).

His PhD dissertation at Wuhan University of Technology – China, in 2017, was awarded the distinction of “Excellent Doctoral Dissertation.”
The lecture concluded with an open discussion with the attendees on the future of applied research and the importance of integration between universities and the industrial community in addressing global challenges in the fields of energy and transportation
